locations

Chimera Chronicles:

I made up the small town of Santa Ramona. I pictured it somewhere right on the coast, a bit south of Santa Barbara.

I also made up Chimera. It's a land created by magic and layered with protections after witches and werewolves were hunted down and murdered. Witch and werewolf hunts in Europe are an actual part of history. They occurred in the 16th and 17th century, and it's estimated that tens of thousands died. Everything else about Chimera is pure imagination: A space beyond the confines of normal time and space, where the magickal community can be safe from non-magickal humans. Built at great cost by members of the magick community (Undines, Sylphs, Salamanders, Giants, Fairies, Elves, Ogres, Dragons, Pixies, Gnomes, Wizards, Witches, and Unicorns, among others) so they could be safe from the Mundane (regular humans). And as the magickal community moved to Chimera and left our world behind, their magic slowly seeped away, and faded from Mundane memories.

R.E.D. Trilogy:

There are a few locations mentioned in the Trilogy. None of these locations are made up.

Eugene is a city in the state of Oregon. It is surrounded on the East and South by the Willamette Forest, with a population of less than 200,000.

Sacramento is a city in the state of California. It is near the confluence of the American and Sacramento rivers, nearly half way between San Francisco and Lake Tahoe, and has a population of over 500,000.

Dark Seighly:

Monsters used to be seen all over the world. Many countries reported similar terrifying creatures. Then, most of those reports stopped. There's a reason for that.

Though many characters will start in various real world locations, the tiny town of Dark Seighly is imaginary. It has been kept a secret for 800 years, hidden from the government, not listed on maps. Though sometimes there are vague rumors of it and those who seek it, only those that are called to it can remain.

It exists for one purpose only. To keep all those monsters of legend - the ones assumed to have been imaginary - confined inside The Pit just outside town. And those that live there are sworn to prevent the escape of any of those monsters, no matter the cost.
